In what ways does a typical farmer live a more authentic life than most people?

It’s not necessarily that I want to be a farmer, but it’s interesting to think about the ways in which their lives are more authentic or fulfilling. Living in the modern world, how do they live more in accordance to human nature than people in other professions?

Consider this in the context of ideas like: heirloom varieties vs commodity crops, food systems (industrial vs local), modern farmers doing an act of conservation, and the contrast of a farmer and a tech worker in terms of embodied cognition.
