As I know, the best way to sell a good worldbuilding is to create a flavour of foreingness or unknowness. And one of the best ways to achieve that is to create a language for your people, like Tolkien did with elfic.

BUT I AM NOT TOLKIEN.

The question is, how to create a language? I can not find any references on the web. I am not looking for a randomly generated language, I want a method to create a language using flavour tree like method and lot of references.

Any ideas?

Pd: I am not english speaker, sorry for the mistakes if there are.

Edit: I want to explain a little better what I am looking for. I am looking for a method to create a language. I already know how to create a grammar and vocabulary but what I want to know is how to make it sounds like a real language. For example, french has a special sound and flavour, foreingness. How to create that foreingness?

Thanks a lot for your answers. I will receive them with a lot of love.

Edit 2: I think I already found what I am looking for. 'Phonology'. It is the branch of linguistics that studies the sounds of a language. The phonology is what makes the flavour or special sound of a language.

The phonology is how one sounds are combined in a language and how the sounds change or transform through the history in language.

For example, in english there is /c/ sound, meanwhile in spanish there are /c/ , /rr/ and /dr/ .

I think this is what I was looking for. The combination of sounds or phonemes.

A lot of thanks for all of you. I will be in my room creating a language, bye.
