"it's my golf ball"

No, it's not. We can't see your face on that ball from 200 yards away, stop pretending that you can tell them apart and honestly mistook mine for yours. You want me to stop playing and risk losing my ball because you're probably trying to use a better ball than you bought. The very act of me stopping to verify is enough for a penalty, so now I have to play a ball that's not mine from the spot where we found it?

And then you catch a glimpse of your ball, somewhere on the course. You don't even feel bad! You just continue to play with my ball, "accidentally." Then you hit my ball really far and straight by some miracle, and that's MY fault because I mistook it for yours. You know you're going to the next hole so either make the right call and play YOUR ball, plop another ball on the ground and start playing with it after "locating" it, or admit you can't tell the balls apart and continue playing with mine.

I know this is a lot to ask of someone that likely does not have a good grasp on the rules, but please educate yourself on what "it's my golf ball" means.
