Just returned from Paris. There is a lot of hate for British tourists and American tourists, all attributed to the gypsies

Just returned from Paris. I am British and American. I have lived in Paris for 5 years. I have been all over France.<br><br>When I was there this time, I noticed a lot of anger and resentment towards British and American tourists from the French.<br><br>I know that pickpocketing is a huge problem in Paris. But the French seem to attribute this to the British and American tourists. This is not true. It is mainly the gypsies.<br><br>The French seem to ignore this fact and blame us instead. I spoke to a lot of French people who were very resentful towards us and made some very unprofessional comments. I feel that this resentment is causing a lot of division between nations.<br><br>I am very disappointed that the French are not doing anything about the gypsies. Instead they blame us.<br><br>Edit: For context I am half American half British. I am a 22 year old woman. I was there visiting my sister. I spent most of my childhood in Paris.<br><br>Edit: I don't think gypsies should be criminalized. But the French should do something about the fact that the vast majority of pickpocketing is committed by gypsies.
