How would a modern society change and adapt after finding out that reincarnation is real?

So for the last ~15 or so years, we have had a way to confirm that the soul is real, and there is a pseudo proven reincarnation that is an important aspect of religion and sciences. In the last 20 years or so, we have seen a shift away from many religions and the concept of an afterlife, and towards a hard materialism. This has had massive impacts on society and the world, we have just gone through a “great spiritual awakening” as a result.

The shift towards reincarnation was against almost every religion, and even science to begin with. But over the last decade or so, it has become more widely accepted.

How do you think the world would adapt to this? Do you think there would be changes to society, and would it lead to a better or worse place?

Also, let me know if you want details on the methods we use to verify reincarnation.

Edit: I’m grateful for the amount of response this has gotten, and I’m happy to help clarify things.

First and foremost, things like suicides, murders, abortions, etc. are all illegal. It is actually not a coincidence that they are heavily frowned upon in many of the worlds major religions. And these major changes absolutely didn’t happen overnight, but actually required a lot of patience and speedy changes in science and social and political structures.

In many countries, they have moved towards a more stakeholder capitalism, and many countries have UBIs. The U.S. is one of the only major countries not to have both. The shift in worldview has caused a lot of changes to how people act, and how societies run.

Now we are able to see what people were in past lives, and have confirmed past lives. It has been a big “WTF” moment for many people, as you can imagine. But it has also been used to promote a number of social and financial changes, that have greatly benefitted humanity.

There are many who disagree, but my personal hope is that we can get to a point where we can just enjoy the present life, and then use our knowledge from past lives to make the next life even better.

Also, I am planning on writing a longer post with more details, but I am still gathering some info and planning it out.
