My wife and I prep the same meals for the week, but I eat twice as much as her. I FINALLY figured out the perfect ratio

My wife “eats like a bird” while I have worked in construction my whole life; therefore I burn a lot more calories than she does.

For years, I would literally finish my meals for the week by Thursday and have to spend a day or so on the weekends making a new batch of meals on top of our regular Sunday prep.

I have finally figured out the perfect ratio.

It’s been a work in progress for a while but I found that cooking 250% my wife’s portion size is the magic spot.

Example 1: She gets 4oz in a portion size. I will get 10oz (4 + 6).

Example 2: If she eats 2 sweet potatoes I will get 3.5.

I have found that the foods with higher calories are where I should focus on my extra portions. For example, I will eat a full extra chicken breast on days where she eats a half. But I may only eat an extra half sweet potato on days where she gets whole one.

I will eat an extra cup of rice, but I won’t double down on my greens.

**TL;DR** I have found that the perfect ratio for my wife and I is me eating 250% her portion size.
