What "Writing Advice" Do You Think Is BS

I think, imo, that "Kill your darlings" is the most bullshit writing advice ever.

In an early draft of my story, I had one scene that has a minor character that I thought added a lot to the scene and world-building. It was a girl who was hostile, sarcastic, and apathetic. She had a lot of attitude and was very funny. I thought she added a lot to the story so I kept the scene. One of my readers said that I should kill her because she doesn't really add anything to the story and "Kill your darlings". I said fuck that shit and kept her in the story.

Anyone else have "writing advice" that you think is bullshit?

hostile, sarcastic, and apathetic
