So I dropped my phone. The screen cracked big time. And I don't care.

i have a bunch of scratches already, but they're fine. I don't give a shit about my phone, I never really have for the past year or so. Of course, I don't want it to break, because I actually want it functional, but I also know that in some way, I'm prepared for it. I've had a non-broken phone for 6 months or so now, and even though I use it a lot, I feel like I have outgrown it.

Especially the last few months, I've learned to let go of things slowly, and now my phone is broken, I just don't give a shit about it. It still works, so I'll keep it for now, but I feel like I want a more eco-friendly solution. A mini phone, or a phone with a less addictive OS. A phone which is smaller and less in the way, but also one that I can hold onto for more than 3-4 years. I've always had iPhones, but I'm sick of their "planned obsolescence" and most of all, reselling policy. I can't be bothered reselling anything more, but also, I don't want to contribute to fast fashion, and planned obsolescence. I just want to keep my stuff for a long time, and actually have some quality stuff.

I will try to fix my phone, but I have a feeling it's been broken for good. I've had it for maybe 3 years now, which is a lot more than I used to keep my phone. For the past year, I stopped caring about my phone, I don't want to be that person. You know, the one who's obsessed with their phone and always looks at it? I want to be present. I want to be away from my phone. And I feel like my next phone is going to be one that's built to last. I don't want to have to replace it after 3-4 years. I will probably keep it for more than that.

So, if anyone has suggestions for less addictive phones, please DM. I'm thinking about a light phone, palm phone or a fairphone.
