I got divorced 2 years ago, which completely blindsided me. I was 32 and my whole life was upside down. I lost my spouse, my best friend, my cats, my house, my pets, my money, my dignity, my security. But, I have a good job and was able to recover.

I'm posting from my office, with all my stuff set up, looking around at my desk, my bottles of water, my favorite coffee mug, my makeup bag. I have a good job and a lot of money in the bank. That is so crazy to me. I just got out of a depressive episode from a bad day at work and I realized that I spent 6 years on a relationship that failed and then the last year just trying to get back into life.

I put 2 years worth of work into the wrong person. That was 2 years I could have put into the right person. But I feel like if that didn't happen I would have never learned to take care of myself. I got to the point where I thought I might lose everything, but instead I gave myself everything back.

I just want to know if anyone else has been in a situation where they thought they were going to lose everything. How did you recover?
