What is the deal with everyone's hatred for the concept of 'high fantasy'?

I’ve seen so many people write hate threads, comments, and go on tirades about how it's overdone, cliched, boring, etc.<br><br>I personally enjoy fantasy the most as it has the potential to be the most creative and imaginative genre by a huge margin. Not to say other genres don’t, but with fantasy almost anything can happen and the number of settings, characters, plot lines, and ideas you can create is virtually endless.<br><br>That being said, I’m not into the idea of throwing away an entire genre of story-telling because some people think it's overdone.
