I'm raging over the fact that we're expected to do the emotional labor of doing "our research" and being "informed" when there are institutions of people we pay to do this shit.

There is nobody on Earth that I trust less than a politician. There is NO public official I trust. No institution. No politician that is supposed to be the "good one" has ever been more than a mild disappointment to me. They ALL sell out.<br><br>This is a country of 330 million people and yet we all have to do our research to make informed decisions, to educate anyone else we know, and now we're raging over a woman's right to choose (again, ffs) and it's all up to us to contact our representatives and protest and people are suggesting rioting. Why should it be the citizen's responsibility to go out and protest yet again after decades of protesting the same thing for women's rights. Why should we have to do anything? What the fuck are we paying for this shit for? What is the purpose of this government, these people we pay taxes to pay for, if we're doing all the fucking work and research and protesting?<br><br>Everything now is up to us to do our research, to inform ourselves, inform our friends and family. To protest. To fight. To contact our representatives like they give a fuck about us. In the meantime, these fuckers have three jobs and theirouses are fully paid for, their retirement plans are fully paid for, their health insurance is fully paid for. They have private security, private schools for their kids, etc. What do we get? We get to do the hard work of begging our government to please not make us second class citizens. We get to beg our government to please not boil us alive. Please don't choke us. Please don't shoot us. Please don't mace us. Please keep protecting us from your police and your one firearms for every citizen. <br><br>It's fucking insane and I'm so tired. I don't have the energy for this. I rebel against the idea that regular people have to do this. Fuck that. I didn't go to school and pay student loans for a shit job I hate so I can also do the work of the government on top of my job. I didn't give my tax dollars to pay these people's salaries so I could do the work I paid for them to do. I just want to be left the fuck alone by these people to live my life in peace without having to do their job. I just want to work and pay my taxes and live my life.
