Shit happens

Hey guys, sorry about the downtime. We had 2 problems. <br><br>- A recent code change allowed the downvote button to be used as a button to unsubscribe. This was found by a redditor and caused backlash. Thank you for giving us feedback on the problem with the website.<br>- The backend had a mistake in a conditional that caused the report button to delete comments instead of creating a ticket to report a comment. <br><br>So obviously, a lot of things to improve on. Believe me when I say we would not intentionally delete comments or commit malicious actions. We have a lot to improve on and we are working on it. Thank you for feedback and for using our website.<br><br>Edit: Thank you for all the feedback. To solve the problems we did the following:<br><br>- We changed the comment system to be more similar to Chambers's comment system. It doesn't automatically unsubscribe when you downvote someone.<br>- When you report a comment, it now creates a ticket to our backend. You will not be unsubscribed from the post or get a notification. <br>- We put in a lot of checks to make sure that this issue does not happen again. <br><br>Thanks for giving us feedback on our website.
