If 2nd wave feminism was about equality, how did we get to the point where women think they can beat men up and the law will come after the men?

2nd wave feminism was about the woman's liberation movement. I figured they meant equal right under the law, and nobody claimed they don't. But I don't see how anyone could possible think that we live in a society where women can literally beat men up and the cops will come after the men after.
