Why is it not socially acceptable to be a fat, unattractive man but it is okay to be a fat, unattractive woman?

I do not mean to shame overweight people, but I am interested in why fat unattractive women will always have fat unattractive men swarming to them but a fat unattractive man will be shamed by everyone.
