Suing an employer for having a bad time while working in the company

Hey all. I am wondering if it's a possibility to sue an employer for making any employee have a bad time while working at the company? Suppose and employee has been treated poorly and had a bad experience while at work. How would one be able to pursue action? Or would you call a lawyer?
