Why do I always have to be the strong one?

How come women are free to express their vulnerabilities to us and yet we're expected to shut up if we want to open up about it? My (ex)gf blew up at me because I shared a little something about my parents and how I couldn't have a healthy relationship with my mother and she started saying I'm weak to talk about it. Mind you, I've been nothing but supportive and there for her through thick and thin. Like, fuck this double standard honestly.
