I got an extremely strange phone call at work today.

I was bored at work and decided to pick up the phone myself instead of having a superior take the call. So I answered with our company name followed by "How can I help you?" I kid you not some man literally said "Hello". In the most emotionless voice I have ever heard. I was so confused. - edited out the companys name - So I said "Did you call for [edited out the company name]?" And he said "Yes, you called me." I said "I'm sorry? You called us?" And we just went back and forth for a minute with the same exchange until I asked him for his name to look up his file. He said "It's Tom". I asked him for his last name and said "Tom". I typed in the last name as "Tom" just to see if that was actually someone's last name and nothing showed up. I said "I'm sorry Tom, I don't see any file for you" and he said "You called me". I said "I'm sorry sir, I don't have any information about you. But I can take your information down to set up a meeting with one of our employees" and he just said "I'm on my way". So I said "Sir, I don't know when you plan on showing up, but it's 3pm on a Friday. Everyone is heading home in an hour. I'm not sure anyone will be here to meet with you. If you give me your number I can have one of our employees call you on Monday to set up a meeting" And he said "You have my number. See you soon." Then hung up. The whole conversation was so bizarre and honestly a little unsettling. I told my coworker about it and he said it was probably a glitch in the simulation. I'm not sure if I believe in that, or if that's just something people say for fun, but that call was just so strange and honestly a little frightening. <br><br>Edit: THANK GOD I EDITED OUT THE NAME OF THE COMPANY. My boss just called me after seeing this post and said that he got a call from our CEO saying they're receiving calls about this post and to please take it down. I don't know if I would have a job right now if I hadn't edited out the company name. You guys are amazing! ?
