Is anyone else here NOT trying be a dev?

I want to start coding as a way for me to automate and optimize my daily and weekly tasks. And I'm excited to do this on a personal level, as something I just think would be cool to do.

But every time I try to learn things, I feel like I'm being funneled into becoming a developer for a service or company. And I have no interest in this. I'm not trying to show my skills off to anyone else. Is it just me? Or is it just the way I'm being taught to code?

Ex: "Ah, you don't know anything about coding? Well, you should start with HTML and CSS."

"Why? I'm only going to ever be on my Mac or iPhone. I don't want to create a website that I can view on a PC. I want to create shortcuts or applications specifically for me and my iPhone and Mac. And I don't want to have to install anything. It should be a native app with no software."

"Oh, well in that case you should start with JavaScript."

"I don't want to get into that. I don't want a site that asks for permission for my camera, my browser history, or my location. Or I want it to be a native app, not a web app."

"Why are you so against this?"

"I'm not against it, I just don't care about having multiple platforms. I only want this to work on my Mac and iPhone, and I want the app to be of native quality and to not require a browser. I want it to interact directly with my desktop and iPhone."

"Well then you should start with Swift."

"But that's only for Mac, how do I create apps for my phone?"

"Oh, well you should start with Swiftui, then you can create an app for both your Mac and iPhone."

"Well how do I manipulate the data for my iPhone and Mac then? How can I have it auto backup all my photos and videos?"

"You have to do that with Swift."

"I'm not going to write a whole Swift app for doing that manually! I want to automate it. How do I use AppleScript to do this?"

"Why are you so against using Swift?"

"I'm not against it, I just don't want to open a whole software on my computer to do something simple. And I don't want that to be an app on my phone too. I just want to keep all my music in my garage and never have to worry about it, and I want all my photos to get backed up automatically to my garage, and I want my garage to auto backup to my phone if I ever need to get something, so I can just pull it from my phone and plug into a flagship computer if I ever need to access it, and I don't want the files on my laptop, I just want them to be on my garage and my phone, and my phone is always connected to my garage by wifi."

"Well then I guess there's nothing that we can provide you because everything that you need can't be done with coding."

And that is the problem. The lessons and tutorials that I find all seem to be geared towards people who want to become developers. I just want to code as a fun little project.

But there are no resources for someone trying to do something like this. I want to create shortcuts and apps for my personal use. But everything that I look up is about coding a website, or coding for a service, or coding an app for the app store, or working on a coding team. And none of that is what I want to do.

I'm not trying to be a dev. I just want to code a little bit because it's fun, and I want to create little shortcuts and apps for my own personal use. But I'm being funneled into something I don't actually want to do, and it's very frustrating.
