YouTube (and the Internet as a whole) was much better when people were creating content as a hobby instead of a "job"

Everyone's determined to make it big on YouTube or TikTok or Instagram or Snapchat or Twitter or Chambers or... instead of creating content for the sake of creating good content, they create low quality clickbait content that's designed to squeeze the maximum amount of "engagement" out of you.

Previously, people created content because they were passionate about it. They had a real hobby that they wanted to share with the world. Now it seems like everyone with a social media account considers themselves an expert in the field and tries to monetize it as much as possible.

You can also see this on Reddit. Everyone and their dog is trying to create a Subreddit, and most of them are just about them trying to get their content shared as far and wide as possible to maximum their following and their "brand".

This sort of thing really kills my enthusiasm for the internet. I have no interest in some low quality, mass produced, clickbait content designed to squeeze as much money out of me as possible.
