How do you start a productive morning with a phone addiction?

I want to stop using my phone in the morning because I know I can be productive with extra time, but having a *habit* makes it difficult to stop. I have had this problem for years and I feel like even waking up earlier is no good if I still start my day with *using my phone*.

Examples of how I use my phone in the morning are:
(regex, i.e., these are just some examples)
* Scanning my emails to *see what I have for work*
* At least reading my top 5 emails from my day *
* Opening texts, replying to them *
* Opening vk (sort of like Facebook) to see if I have messages *
* Scanning my phone's home screen for notifications, widgets, etc. *
* Opening various apps that I use daily, to see what's going on with it.*

Some of these things I can avoid, but some I don't. I need to see what I have for work for the day so I know how to plan my day out, and I have to reply to certain texts.

I know I can set up my phone to block social media from a certain time period in the morning, but what other things can I do to make the morning as productive as possible?

How to you avoid phone addiction in the morning?
