What happened to anime?

What’s going on with anime? New anime just doesn’t feel like it did when I got back into it in 2018 or even prior to that. Not a single anime this year has captured my heart. Everything just feels so hollow and empty. I’ve even been rewatching a lot of my favorite anime and I can’t even get excited about that. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been disappointed too many times or what but I’ve even started watching more cartoons than anime. I miss feeling so obsessed with anime. I miss getting so excited about a new season of anime. I miss binge watching an anime and just becoming so heavily invested. I miss anime. I feel like I’m falling out of love with it and it’s depressing.
