I have a background in teaching and back in the day I loved feature a channel on YouTube where the teacher would do these educational videos for students with special needs.

These videos were a godsend to me personally and professionally because it allowed me to get some work done in the classroom while keeping the kids engaged without having to resort to creating fake busywork activities.

The channel got up to like 300k subscribers and the content that was being created really resonated with me personally.

The creator of the channel just up and went radio silent one day and shut off the camera. All the videos are still up there but they have been “dead” for a couple years now.

In hindsight, if you are creating quality content for a specific niche audience, and people start relying on your channel for their personal or vocational needs, I feel like you have a moral obligation to continue creating, maintain, and update your channel for the purposes of serving the community.

I believe it is morally wrong to create a good or service, have people rely on it, and then just abandon it for selfish reasons.

Edit: I don’t necessarily mean if health is the reason. I mean if you just decide you want to go in a different direction.
