Doesn't it seem like the depiction of a recession really doesn't align with what most people's experience of a recession is?

Most people are going about their normal daily lives. Grug still working. The news doesn't talk much about unemployment. Most people are still spending money, business is still thriving. It really doesn't feel like a recession.
