I'm seriously considering suicide. Do men ever tell their wives about their depression?

I (25m) am a successful software developer. I have a great job, but I've been suffering on and off from depression for the last year or so. Some days are better than others, but I've been having serious thoughts of suicide in the past few days.

My biggest fear is my fiancée (24f) finding out. She is the love of my life and I don't know if she'll ever see me the same if she knew how I was feeling. She is currently in nursing school and has enough on her plate.

I've been considering speaking to a therapist, but it's a requirement where I work (and I'm sure many other companies as well) that if I see a therapist, I HAVE to tell my employer. I feel like this would be a huge red flag to them and I could lose my job.

I'm mainly wondering if any of you have ever told your significant other about your depression? How did she react? I'm sure it's different for everyone, but I would appreciate any insight into what her reaction might be.

EDIT: Wow, I wasn't expecting so many responses. First, I want to say thank you to everyone who has offered support and advice. Second, I apologize if anyone was triggered by my post. I'm truly sorry and that was not my intention.

As for my situation, I'm planning on talking to my fiancée tonight. I've never been good with words, so I'm still trying to put my feelings into words. I will update after that.
