CMV: The base unit of human interaction and guilt is hard to break, so I've started to just make everyday interactions awkward to bring up real global issues on a personal level

I don't say this to be confrontational or to make people angry, it's just that I get the opportunity to meet a lot of people in the world by just talking to them. I'm a guilt based person and have trouble letting go of everyday interactions, so I try to use that personal connection by hijacking everyday conversations to make people see how impactful a human interaction is on a personal everyday level.

Everyday examples:

My apartment has a shared door entry, where you can get in by telling the "secret" code to the camera guy. I don't want to break the pattern and just discourage people, so from time to time, when I'm coming home, I just block their code and don't let them in, forcing them to have a conversation with the security guy about what to say next. Why did we craft a "secret" password when it's the same for everyone? What is your definition of secret?

"Why is your bag open, is it ok if we scan it?"... "Oh, no thanks, of course, my bag is open because I'm watching it". This is my go to for about 2 years now. These days, it's almost the norm for them to get pissed off at me when I ask them if they watch it or not. But isn't it weird that you can just carry around anything and not even care? What is something that makes you question the purchases you make? Why do you think you'd always be able to trust any brand?

The biggest one is the "So what do you think of the latest news?"... "Oh, wasn't that the one about the whole city in Iraq that was flooded and thousands died?" "No, that wasn't it, I don't remember". This usually leads to a 2 minute conversation about what news are important and why. What is important to you about a piece of news? Do you think we should get more information about topics that aren't in the mainstream news? If you want to know more about it, why don't you ever seek it out? I'll link some of the interesting ones in the comments so you can see for yourself and follow them anytime you want.

I'm not pointing fingers and accusing people of not caring about the world, I'm just pointing out that we've all become pretty comfortable in our lives as we are. I'm guilty of this too, but the picture and scope gets lost because of everyday life. I'm not even saying we should change our lives around to make the world a better place, just be more aware of what you do and how that impacts the world. I'm just trying to make people more aware, not to change. I'm sorry if this came across in an aggressive way. I'm just trying to convince people that this is the right way to bring it up.

Edit: The point of this is not to just make people uncomfortable or to berate them into changing their ways. I'm not pointing fingers, I'm not accusing them of anything. I just want them to understand that it's not just about them, it's about all of us. I'm guilty of this too, so I'm trying to show the bigger picture, not shame them. I also don't want to disrupt their whole day with a whole conversation about this, sometimes I'll just throw it in there without even waiting for their response.
