Buy nothing if you can’t pay cash

This is one of the concepts I’ve learned from Dave Ramsey. Overall I like a lot of his ideas but I’m not a fan of the debt snowball method. I recommend the avalanche method.

Buy nothing that you can’t pay cash for in real time. That is, if you’re out at a restaurant and you see someone with a big juicy steak, pay for it immediately from your pocket, then eat it. If you can’t afford to pay cash for it, then you can’t afford it.

I can’t explain it better than that.

Don’t buy stuff that you can’t pay for in full. If you’re buying something and they ask how you’d like to pay, them tell them cash. If you don’t have the money, don’t make the purchase.

:)
