Has anyone ever convincingly explained why humans find certain things beautiful?

For instance, why do we as humans find sunsets beautiful? Why do we as humans find smiling people or happy faces beautiful? Why do we like beauty and even need it to be happy? Why do certain things move us so much that we would actually rather die for those things than live without them?<br><br>I don't feel like I've found a good answer to these questions.
