What really is the average penis size?

Was having a discussion with my girlfriend, if the average penis size is truly 6 inches? She says that most guys she’s been with were around that size? I’m not small, I’m 6.5 but people make it seem like some guys have 10 inch penises and that the average is bigger than that.
