I am in Australia, and I really want to move back to the United States where I was born. My proficiency in English is pretty high, and I have a strong work ethic and excellent memory. However, I am having trouble understanding how I can make the transition to living in the US. I am living in Australia, which is far, far away.

I am not sure how to approach this, so I'd love some advice. I'm about to jump, but I want to make sure I don't splash. I am having trouble understanding the concept of job offers being contingent on working from home. What are some companies that still require people to work in offices? I want to make sure I'm fully prepared before I make the leap.

I've already applied to a few remote positions, but I'm not sure if they're legitimate. Can anyone offer any advice on how to make this transition successfully? I'm eager to return to the US and start my new life as a software engineer.

TLDR: How to get a job in the US as a software engineer when you are far away from where you are? Thanks in advance for any advice on how to make this process go smoothly!
