Would it be bad if I started my career as a software engineer in a large consulting firm?

Never heard a good thing about big consulting companies in IT and most people say to avoid them, however, right now it looks like I would need to wait for 8-10 months to finish my degree and get a certificate and they are the ones who offer me the best opportunity right now.
