AITA for telling my brother he’s not my son’s godfather because of his antics?

I 39 f am the middle child, my brother 41 m is the oldest and my sister 28 f is the youngest. We don’t have a big family and all our cousins live in different parts of the country, so for us three, it’s always been a very tight knit unit. I’m the black sheep, I’m the only one who doesn’t believe in God and I’m the type of person who likes to change things up. My family has a strong Catholic background, and my brother is the most fervent believer amongst all of us. He dedicated his life to giving mass and being a priest.<br><br>When my husband passed away, I decided to move back to our hometown to be close to my family. My brother was always the one who took care of my children since I was suddenly a single parent. He even took a special interest in my son and wanted to be his godfather. At the time, my son was a little too young to understand, but when he turned ten, he expressed his disdain for the idea of having my brother as his godfather. To break it down, my brother is VERY strict. He wants everything to follow the teachings of the Bible, and my kids just don’t like him.<br><br>They’re just not that into religion, but they kind of embrace some of the teachings and want to explore more. They don’t like to be forced into anything, and it’s a problem of my brother imposing himself on all of us. He thinks he knows better, and he’s always judging everyone who doesn’t see things as he sees them. I always stood up for myself, but my kids are too young and I don’t want them to have to deal with it. I told my brother that I was going to find another godfather for my son and ofc, that made him very angry.<br><br>He said that’s proof of my sinful and satanic ways, that I’m going to hell and I’m ruining my kids. He also complained that I was taking away his chance to guide my son and that’s proof that I don’t take him seriously. He also told me to get my head out of my behind, that I’m not doing my kids any favors by being a bad influence. Now he’s not talking to me and my sister said I was right but she’s also giving me the usual speech about getting along with my brother.
