I’m an after school tutor for 5th grade (10-11yo). I have a student who has trouble with behavior, staying on task, listening to others, staying after school, etc. She’s very sweet when you get to know her. She has a lot of trouble staying after school, so I say, “What do you like to do and I’ll set it up for you!!” She’s not into games, crafts, sports, or cooking. She said, “I like spending time with bandit.” Like I said, staying after school is an issue so I replied, “How about I set it up so bandit comes to tutoring with you?” She started saying, “I don’t know…. Bandit might be busy.” I said, “Does bandit live nearby? If so, I can call bandit’s grown up to say it’s okay for bandit to come to tutoring with you, or we can post and see if someone can bring bandit over!” She replied, “Bandit isn’t nearby… Bandit lives with me.” I’m like, “Whoa bandit is one lucky person to get to live with you!! Tell me more about bandit.” She says, “Bandit is my dog and he does tricks.” I said, “Bandit does tricks??? What kind of tricks?” She said, “Bandit does this and that,” but she said it so quickly that I couldn’t understand. She is very quiet and soft spoken. I said, “That sounds so cool! Can you do the trick for me?” She said, “Bandit isn’t here.” I said, “I know! But maybe you can do the trick that bandit does for me, and then I can see the trick!” She said, “Okay if I do it though…. Will I get in trouble? I don’t want to get in trouble for doing bandit’s trick.” I said, “Show me what bandit’s trick is, and I’ll let you know if you’ll get in trouble or not.” So she did the trick. Want to guess what the trick is? I’ll tell you in a different comment. I’m so confused what type of dog does this trick.
