Temporary Ban on Remote Work

I worked at a corporate office building for 16 years. The company I work for is absolutely not necessary and is completely a luxury and a waste of resources. Think tall ceilings, marble in the bathrooms, and a huge fancy staircase that no one ever even walks on.

I became a remote worker in 2018 and haven’t had to set foot in that building since 2018. I loved it. The traffic where I live is terrible so I saved hours of time not commuting. I used to be so stressed out driving home in the evening rush hour but I was so relaxed and unstressed after not commuting for a few months. I even had a lot more time to work and be productive and work faster.

This is the same reason I believe the lockdowns are temporary and will eventually end. What you’ll start seeing is more offices allowing people to work remotely. The more people working remotely, the more homes you need to accommodate those workers. The more homes that are needed, the more the price of housing will go up. The economic system will just continue with this as long as it continues to make more profit off of it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they even start taking over the office buildings and turning them into more housing as more people move out of the cities. It’s a win win for big business. They can still have their workforce, and they can buy up commercial property at lower prices and they can also continue to buy up residential properties and raise housing costs.
