How do people enjoy having a family?

Okay so I'm a loner, I hate how my parents always fucking want me to come home and spend time with them. They will interrogate me and demand to know what I'm doing and who I'm with. I'm 20 years old, I go to school. I have a life. When I see my parents I hate how they fucking want to control everything I do. They don't even care about my feelings or what I want to do. They don't even care about me, they only care about their own feelings. That's it. They will never let me have my own life and cherish my own experiences and memories. They will always treat me like fucking property. So that's my rant over with, but how are people able to enjoy having a family and what does it even mean to have a family?
