Why are people so secretive about their health status?

I am sick to death of seeing these hints and half truths about whether someone has the virus or not.

If someone is sick for weeks and then says on social media that they tested negative for the Corona virus I call them out on it and ask them if they are lying, and explain why I think that. Usually they admit that they in fact had the virus but didn't want to say because they didn't want to be blamed for spreading it or stigmatised. Well let me tell you something, you can contract it just as easily from a shoe as you can from a person so stop with the BS.

I have contracted it before and I was open about it. I knew who I had contact with so there was no point in lying and trying to make out like a bad person for not wanting to be stigmatised when the reality is that it is a virus, and what you have to say about it is irrelevant and doesn't change the facts.
