I am traveling 2,000 miles through the American heartlands for 2 weeks by bus. What should I expect?

I am moving to a small town in the Midwest for a year for work. I am leaving from the West Coast (Oregon) and will be on this trip through the southern route (I-10). I have never taken a bus for more than a couple of hours in my life, but I have to do this because I don't drive. I also will be bringing 3 large suitcases with me. I have heard many different and contrasting stories, but I would like to know what you experienced if you ever had to take a long bus ride across the country. Specifically, the following:

1. How was your experience sleeping through the night in the bus? I will be sleeping through the night for 3 nights. I am a good sleeper but I am worried about the lack of comfort. I have earplugs, eye mask, and a neck pillow, but is there anything else that you used to sleep better?

2. How clean and safe were the bus stops? I am anxious about the bus stops, and I am especially worried about the night time stops.

3. Did you ever have to deal with loud, obnoxious, or annoying passengers? What would you do in those situations?

4. How did you keep yourself occupied during the trip?

5. Was the food at the stops acceptable? Where should I eat and what should I avoid?

6. I will be taking a bus with free wi-fi, but how consistent was the wi-fi during your trip? Should I have a backup plan to keep myself occupied?

7. Was it possible to walk around and stretch? How did you do it and how often?

8. Any other tips or advice you would give for a trip like this?

I just want to make sure that I am prepared for this trip and that I can handle it. Thank you!
