Dreams: I “wake up” in the dream and I’m still in the dream. This has happened my whole life.

I’ve been having extremely vivid dreams since I was 5. It has continued throughout my life with no change.

Since I was 5, I used to have dreams where I wake up in the dream and I still know I’m in the dream. I’m fully aroused. I can control the dream. I am aware that it’s the dream. This has been happening my whole life. Why?

I do this thing when I wake up in the dream where I try to be lucid even more and I look at the objects in the dream. Is this normal? It’s not weird to me but I don’t know if it’s normal to anyone else.

I will stare at a cup and make sure that all of the cups visual elements are there and they are perfect. I would do this with just a table or a chair. While doing this I’m trying to stay awake and stay in the dream. I never actually stay in the dream. I always wake up. I only did the cup viewing thing when I was a little girl. I’m 29 now.

I used to go to sleep and it would feel like I was going to sleep.. I would feel myself falling and I would feel like I was looking down at my body and I would be out of my body when I “fell” asleep. I would go to sleep and it would feel like I was really going to sleep. Like I was exiting my body but I was still in the dream.

This used to happen all of the time as a kid. I’m still able to remember all of my dreams since I was 5 even to this day.

I do this thing when I’m actually falling asleep where I always count backwards and I think of all of the things that could have happened to me during the day. I will remember all of the things I did during the day in order. It always helps me fall asleep. I will also think of all of the things I need to do tomorrow.

I would also have things happen in my life and I would remember a dream that happened like 5 years ago and I would remember how it felt and what happened. I would apply it to the situation that I was in when I was awake.

Does this happen to anyone else? It feels normal to me. But it seems like even normal people don’t have this happen to them.
