Hey friends. I am new to this sub and well, I seen an opportunity to post this since this coming Monday, I really need to get to Walgreens and get some items for class. If you have any questions or concerns, just drop a comment below. I am more than happy to help. Thanks for reading and have a great day.

---

I want to start this post off right by saying that I am not judging anyone for being a thief. I am a thief myself, but I want to give you reasons why I believe that stealing isn't worth it even if you need something. Stealing is a part of the human condition and your best friend oval office has ordered the execution of the homeless. So, I'm not here to judge I seen it and I see it. If you can read this post and get something from it, I will be honored. Thanks in advance for reading and if you have a problem with me, please drop a comment below. I am more than happy to talk it out with you.

* You could lose your job over it. I know there are probably a lot of people on this post who are working in a retail environment and I bet a lot of you probably didn't know that if you get caught, you will lose your job. I got fired from Target back in February 2019 because I got caught stealing from them. The manager thought I was stealing thousands of dollars from them and that wasn't the case. I used to work in the stockroom and I was just stealing random items and I am pretty sure I made off with maybe $500 worth of stuff, but I also returned a lot of it. I never got in trouble with the law, but I did get fired and I wasn't able to get a job at Target anymore. Yeah, I went on to work at Ulta Beauty, but still, it's not worth it. If you don't like your job, you can talk to your manager about getting a transfer or picking up a different shift.

* You could end up in jail. Speaking of getting in trouble with the law, you could end up in jail for stealing. The punishment for stealing varies on how much you stole, if you have any priors, and what stealing charge you are facing. For example, if you get charged with shoplifting, you could end up with a Class C Misdemeanor if it's under $50. For Class B Misdemeanors, you could end up with up to 180 days in County Jail and a fine not to exceed $2,000 or both. If you are facing a State Jail Felony for stealing, the punishment is 180 days to 2 years in a State Jail Facility and an optional $10,000 fine. If you are facing a Third Degree Felony, the punishment is 2 to 10 years in prison and an optional $10,000 fine. Second Degree Felony is up to 20 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000 or both. First Degree Felony is from 5 to 99 years in prison and an optional fine not to exceed $10,000 or both. Lastly, if you are facing a Capital Felony charge, it's death or life without parole.

* You could end up with a criminal record. A criminal record is just as bad as a poor driving record. If you end up in jail, you will end up with a criminal record that is associated with your name. A criminal record can affect your college applications, job applications, and any other applications that you need to take that asks if you have ever been to jail or have a criminal record. Now, there is something called deferred adjudication which means that instead of being charged with a crime, you have to do community service and classes. If you agree to it, your record will be expunged. Meaning that it will be erased. But, in order for it to be expunged, you have to do the community service as well as the classes. There is also something called expunge which is usually for things like possession of weed. Let's say you get a POM charge and you have to do community service and a class. You will get the record expunged and you won't have to do the classes and the community service.

* You could damage your relationship with your family. Your family loves you so much and they will do anything for you, but if they find out that you are a thief, they will be disappointed. I know if my father ever found out that I am a thief, he would be devastated. Especially since he is pretty much the reason I'm alive. My father was a very abusive alcohol after my mom died and so was my step mom. Me and my sister were never allowed to leave the house and so, we were forced to steal since our parents were never there for us and didn't take care of us. There are a lot of young people on this sub and they probably don't know how to shoplift or they never seen their parents shoplift. The reason why so many people steal is because of their environment. The reason I became a thief was because of my environment. But, my parents are dead to me now and I am doing much better than I ever have. If your family finds out that your a thief, they will be disappointed and the best thing for you to do is to be honest with your family and get yourself help.

* You could lose your friends. Your friends love you a lot and they want the best for you. So, if they find out that you are a thief, they will be disappointed and they might even have second thoughts about being friends with you. Speaking of being friends with people, it's a good idea to stay away from people who are negative or toxic. Negative people can really affect your mental health and cause you to think differently. I know a lot of people on this sub have mental health issues, so it's best to stay away from people who are going to bring you down and surround yourself with people who really care about you. If your friends find out that your a thief, be honest with them and explain what is going on with you. You might end up losing them, but you did nothing wrong. You just have a problem that you need to get help for.

* You could start a bad habit. Stealing is a bad habit that a lot of people face. It's probably one of the hardest habits to break and a lot of people face this habit, even if they aren't shoplifting. If you are constantly stealing over and over again, you start to develop a habit. Habits can be hard to break, but they can also be easy to break. For example, if you have a bad habit of biting your nails, the first step is to recognize it and then take action. So, if you recognize that biting your nails is a habit that you have, you can get nail clippers and cut your nails or you can buy gum and start to chew on the gum. That way, you can break the habit of biting your nails. Stealing is a habit that can be seen in a lot of people who aren't even shoplifting. For example, if you are constantly taking money from your family or friends, that is considered stealing and a bad habit because it shows that there is something wrong with you and you need to get help. If you feel like you are developing a habit of stealing, take action. Talk to a shrink and they will help you because you need help.

That's it for today's post and I really appreciate you for taking the time to read this. Again, I am not here to judge anyone for being a thief or not. I am a thief myself and I am doing well and I am on a road to recovery. When you are a thief, it's best to have a support system. I have a support system and I know I'm not alone. Again, if you want to talk to me, just drop a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for reading and have a great day.
