Do you think anime will last as long as the Simpsons

The Simpsons just recently aired its 600th episode. The show first started airing in 1989, making Simpsons longer then Star Trek. While anime has been around for decades there hasn't been a single show that has reached the length of the Simpsons. The anime that comes closest to matching this is Sazae-san with over 5500+ episodes and 1500+ movies. What are your thoughts on whether anime will last as long as the Simpsons, or for that matter Star Trek.
