Hate on the “spaced repetition” people all you want but honestly the people who swear by it are right

I didn’t believe it for a long time. I refused to use Anki or Quizlet because I rarely had a laptop with me to study (I have a macbook air that is literally a brick with a broken screen). After I got a new phone, I decided it would be best to use Quizlet, and it has been *so* beneficial for me.

I’m not gonna lie, I’ve always been a terrible studier. I’m someone who has to read the chapter to understand it, I literally have to write down in a bullet point list the flashcards and then drill them into my head (because I’m actually this dumb). Because of that, using Quizlet really helped me. At first, I was just using it to make sure I memorized all the terms, but then I realized it was better if I used it instead of my notes. I made flashcards for every single term, which helped me memorize more than I realized. When I was reading the chapter, I could remember all the important terms by heart. When I sat down to study, I had everything I needed. I could look at my notes from the powerpoints and I remembered everything which made me a lot more confident.

It didn’t matter that I didn’t make actual flashcards because I was basically doing the same thing: memorizing terms, and having them all in the same place. This method is so much better than rereading your notes A MILLION TIMES (not to knock anyone who does) because I feel like I really retain the information better.

I don’t want to sound too crazy but it’s really helped me. First time in my life I received 100% in every single thing I turned in, and I feel so confident about the upcoming exam. Go do it homies!!
