How do I make a table top desk?

I'm looking for a desk for minimal cost. I'm planning on getting it with height adjustable legs, but the tabletops at IKEA are around 80-100$. I want a frugal solution. <br><br>I never made anything out of wood, so I'm looking for any advice for a newcomer. I'm open to not using wood. What can I use to make this desk. <br><br>What are the resources I need? What are the instructions?
