When do we expect these prompts to get more accurate?

I've never been an early adopter of any technology. I've never owned the latest iPhone, been to a preview viewing of a movie, or even bought the latest pair of Air Force 1s. This is in stark contrast to my partner, who is an early adopter of pretty much everything. In the past, I've demonstrated that I've been "trendy" in the past, so I'm basically a late bloomer. I waited until 2011 to get on Instagram, and I only made a Twitter for the Popeyes' chicken sandwich.

Over the past 5 years, I've been watching AI grow from a powerful research tool, to a potential solution to world hunger. So many people that I respect talk about AI as the holy grail of humanity, and this is something that I want to contribute to. I've been actively observing this community since the start of December, with some mixed results.

I've created a few prompts, including ones for Christmas gifts and art projects at work, with mixed success. The only time I can get AI to do what I want is to simply ask it for a list of things. For example, if I ask it to give me 20 things that my son might like for Christmas, it will have a decent idea of what my son likes. However, if I ask it to buy them for me or something, it gets confused and gives me something entirely different.

I understand that this technology is very new, so I'm not expecting it to be perfect right now. My concern is that it might not be perfect until 2040 or something, in which case I don't need to worry about AI for another 10 years.
