To anyone who believes socialism is better for the environment

I'm tired of hearing that socialism and communism are better for the environment. The most polluting and environmentally destructive nations in the world are communist. China is the most polluting nation in the world, Russia is second. India is also massive, and while they are more capitalist than communist now, they have been communist in the past. The USSR from 1922-1991 was one of the most environmentally destructive in human history. So please, show me some historical evidence that the efficient, decentralized, and voluntary nature of capitalism can't compete with the inefficiency and failure of socialism when it comes to the environment.
