The term "catgirl" decreases women's value

I want to start by stating that the majority of the factors that determine an individual's and group's value are derived from their "utility", or how much they contribute to society and the world at large. Of course, there are exceptions, but this is a general truth of how the world works right now. This is especially true for women as they have always been evaluated on their utility compared to men. This is why it is so important to protect and defend the value of women so that we can continue to work towards gender equality.

So, how does the term "catgirl" affect this? The media has always depicted catgirls as characters with no agency and are instead depicted as cute and weak creatures that need protection. It is a term that only serves to further objectify and demean women. It is a term that when used shows how little the individual cares for women, and I also believe that it affects the self-esteem and confidence of women in turn.

This is also especially true when you consider the fact that many people's first interactions with women are with catgirls as there are many prominent characters and games in which catgirls are the central characters. These are the first impressions many boys will have of women and it is a horribly negative one. It promotes the idea of women as weak and in need of protection. This is a horrible thing.
