Since this sub is about exposing and creating awareness about the dangers of communism, I would like to provide some information about it, its drawbacks and the dangers it poses to democracy.

First, a disclaimer: I'm South American, I've lived my entire life in South America and I'm by no means an expert in the topic, although I have studied some of it in school, so I will just share what I know.

Communism's ideal society is one where there's no social classes, everyone has access to resources, there's no such thing as money, everyone's equal, etc. Now, this sounds like utopia, but that's what it is, an utopia, a society in which everyone's happy is impossible to achieve, and there's evidence of this in countries that have tried to apply communism (Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, etc)

Let's talk about how it functions, communists believe that the means of production should be owned by the community at large, or better said, by the state. That's why communists deeply hate the figure of the businessman and businesswoman, because according to them they only accumulate money and don't help create jobs. They believe in giving "power to the people" and in dismantling institutions like the police, the military, etc

Now, onto the drawbacks: If there were no social classes and everyone had the same amount of money, there would be no competition or any motivation to create jobs and companies, which are a vital asset to the economy of a nation. This leads to a lack of resources and a crisis in said country.

In addition, communists often attack and like to abolish institutions like the police and the military, which are important bodies of the state, necessary for the security and stability of the country. They believe that the community should take care of its own security, which isn't true in practice, and that's why countries like Venezuela are so unsafe.

Communism, as I have said before, is an utopia. There will always be people with more resources than others, with more opportunities, etc. It is impossible to create a society where everyone's the same. This is also connected to the fact that everyone's not the same, and that people have their own needs, desires, etc. For example, one person may need more food than another because they may be malnourished, and communists don't take this into account, they believe that everyone has the same needs and they provide the same resources to everyone.

As for the dangers it poses to democracy, the first one is that communists don't believe in democracy, they don't believe that people should democratically elect their leaders and representatives. Instead, they believe that the power should be held by the community, and make decisions that are in their best interest, but they don't take into account the fact that human beings don't have the same tastes, preferences, etc. They would rather have a one-party state, with one leader, than to have a democratic system where leaders are elected by the people.

Secondly, communists usually use violence and propaganda to achieve their goals, they attack businesses, people with different ideologies than theirs, police stations, etc. Their main goal is to dismantle institutions like the ones mentioned and impose a dictatorship like the ones in North Korea and Cuba, where dissent is attacked and people live in fear of the regime.

Lastly, communists are hypocrites, the leaders of a communist regime are usually richer than the citizens, and they have access to better resources and opportunities. Cuba is a perfect example, where Fidel Castro's face is plastered all over the streets while people have to stand in line for hours for bread, milk and other essential supplies.

In conclusion, communism is a system that has many flaws, its main idea is to create a society that's "equal for all", but this is nothing but a dream, an utopia. Communism has many drawbacks, and it poses dangers to our democracy and our institutions. Communism is a system that has failed repeatedly in countries like Venezuela, North Korea, Cuba and many more, and it's a system that doesn't take into account the fact that human beings have different tastes, needs, desires, etc. They're also hypocrites, who instead of achieving a society where everyone's the same, create a system where the leaders have more resources and opportunities than everyone else.

That's it, I hope this helps, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

EDIT: I also want to add that communists tend to be anti-democratic, which is why many of them want to dismantle republics and want to create "popular democracies" which are nothing more than totalitarian systems where dissent is brutally attacked (Yugoslavia and Romania are examples, former popular democracies)
