# tldr: We're adding a NSFW flair option, we're moving towards more strict spoiler rules, and we're adding an indie / doujin flair. We're also revamping how mods view and respond to reports to improve mod quality.

Ever since the chamber was created back in 2006, it's been a space where anime fans can gather to discuss anything related to anime; from their favorite shows to their least favorite shows, and everything in between. The moderators of this chamber have always been committed to creating an environment where discussion and debate are encouraged, and where people can share their passion for anime with each other.

However, times change. Back in 2006, "anime" referred to any animation from any country in Asia that was generally reminiscent of Dragonball or Pokémon. These days, there's a lot more out than just that, and a lot of it is much more mature in nature. Over the past year, there's been more and more requests for an NSFW flair, and after much internal discussion, we have decided to act on that. This is to help users who do not wish to see NSFW content avoid seeing it.

# NSFW Flair
We have now added an NSFW flair option to the subreddit. This flair can be applied by mods to any post that is NSFW and is not marked as such. It was something that was frequently requested over the past year, and we have now decided to provide it. We believe that it will be a valuable tool for you all to customise your user experience.

# More Strict Spoiler Rules
We have been noticing a lot of complaints about spoilers in the comments lately, and we have been listening to those complaints. After a discussion, mods have decided that we will be cracking down more strictly on spoilers moving forward. This means that if a post or comment breaks a rule regarding spoilers, we will take a much more strict stance on removing that post or comment.

# Indie / Doujin Flair
Over the past year or so, we've seen a lot more indie content coming out that was inspired by anime, but that isn't technically anime. To help differentiate this content from traditional anime and makishima-style projects, we have decided to add an "indie / doujin" flair option. This is just another tool that we hope will help enhance your user experience on the sub and make it easier for you to decide which content you wish to engage with.

# Increased Focus on Mod Quality
We have been listening to your complaints about inconsistent mod quality on this sub. Up until now, mods have received and responded to reports in different ways depending on the individual mod. We have now established a more strict, and more consistent, set of guidelines for mods to follow when seeing and responding to reports. We hope that this will lead to more consistency and less confusion for users when interacting with moderators.

We thank you all for your continued support, and for your continued participation on this subreddit. We couldn't be doing this without all of you.
