This was a very strange experience that I had with a homeless woman when I was a young teenager.

At the time, my family and I lived in a second-story condo in a larger building. We were toward the front, with a balcony overlooking the parking lot. I could see the small path to the front door and the sidewalk along the main road where people constantly walked by.

We never had any problems with homeless people in the area, despite the fact that there was a bus stop directly in front of our building. Every now and then, someone would be sitting at the bus stop for extended periods of time, but they always stuck to themselves and left everyone alone.

Things took a turn for the strange when a woman started sitting at the bus stop. At first, I thought she was just waiting for a bus, but she stayed there all day, and even at night. The first time she showed up, she was gone the next morning, but the next night, she was back again.

I felt bad for her. I couldn’t imagine being homeless, and I ended up bringing her food and some soda a few times. She was a little strange in her demeanor, but not enough to concern me.

One day, I was getting out of the car with my mom and little brother when she approached us. She was walking towards us at full speed, and she stopped right next to us and said something along the lines of “It’s so good to finally see you.”

I was confused, and I asked her what she meant. She said that she was my mother. I was shocked and tried to explain that she was not. I told her that I had a mother right there, and pointed to my mom. She got enraged, saying that she was my real mother, and this was just some imposter my dad had hired.

My mom stepped in and told her that she was being ridiculous, and explained that she was my real mother. The woman started shrieking, saying that we were all liars and that she was going to call the police on us. She wandered off down the sidewalk and out of sight.

We were all pretty freaked out over the whole thing. She was very persistent, and continued to sit at the bus stop, sometimes even walking into the main entry of the building and knocking on the door until someone answered.

Eventually, we found out that other residents were also being harassed by her. She was going up to random people and asking them if they knew her daughter. My neighbor recognized her as someone who harassed him at a grocery store a few months prior, saying he was her boyfriend who was trying to avoid her.

I don’t know how she got caught, but one night, a police officer showed up at our door. We had been expecting it, but it still caught me off guard. The cop asked me if I recognized the woman he was talking to in the parking lot. I said yes, and explained everything that had happened. He said that he was going to take her in and that she wouldn’t be back.

The next day, we found out that she was in a mental institution. I don’t know any more details than that. My parents were relieved that it was all over, and I was a bit disappointed, since I had been afraid of her and wished that she had a better life.

She wasn’t seen again for a few years.

When I was 16, I was out in my car with some friends. We were just driving around and listening to music. As we were going down that main road, I saw her sitting on the bus stop bench. I froze up, and my friends asked me if I was okay. I told them who she was, and they were all very interested.

My one friend rolled down the window to take a look, and she looked directly at us. I panicked, and my friends started shouting to her, asking her if she remembered me, and things along those lines. I shouted at them to be quiet, and we sped away.

I don’t know if she saw me, or if she recognized me. I haven’t seen her since, but I hope she’s doing okay.

The woman at the bus stop, let’s not meet again
