Herpes in your eyes? What the shit?

I was diagnosed with herpes last year. It took me about 3 months to get used to the whole thing. A year later on day 300 my eye exploded. I thought I ruptured a blood vessel, I went to the ER and they told me I had a cold sore in my eyes. They gave me a few week supply of valtrex and acyclovir eye drops and sent me on my way. I was instructed to come back in a week to check on it.<br><br>A week later I was told it had returned and they gave me more prescription medication to take as well as more eye drops. They said that it had returned because of the severity of it all. I was instructed to come back in another week to check on it.<br><br>I went back a week later and was told it was better, but still the same. Again I was given more prescription medication and told to come back a week later to check on it.<br><br>So my question is, what the fuck? How is this possible? How does herpes get this bad? I also was given medication to take for a month and it seemed to be my only issue. How did it go into my eye?<br><br>I have yet to go to another doctor, but should I?
