When people say "humans weren't meant to work" they're projecting their own lack of motivation onto the entire human race

It's totally reasonable to wish that we didn't have to work, or at least that we didn't have to work so much. But when you say that humans weren't cut out for a life of labor, you're just wrong. Humans used to work hard to *survive,* more than they do now.

I've sought out accounts from people who grew up in situation where they had to toil tirelessly every day just to keep their family alive, like in some African countries. Those people work their asses off as children, toil in the fields, walk miles a day to get water and firewood, etc. And you know what they say about it? "This is life." And when given the opportunity to move to a richer country, they *work their asses off* to make a new life for themselves. Because they understand how to work hard to get where they want to.

There's this weird modern phenomenon in CA where people just decide they "weren't cut out" for some job that they've had for two years. They were cut out for it! They're cut out for anything they want to do! But they're not, because they don't work hard enough at it. It's like the old parable about theezier and the grasshopper. They're the grasshopper, whiling away their time smoking weed and then being surprised when they can't pay their bills. Then they say, "Humans weren't cut out for this! We should support everyone and give them $15hr and free college and whatever they want!" Nah dude, you just suck.

Edit: to the people in the comments defending laziness and saying "it's so hard to get up off your ass and do anything." Try living on a farm in 1800s Africa for a week. *Then* tell me how hard it is to push your cart around target. I'm not saying it's not hard to find willpower and motivation. But shut up. You have no idea what it's like to have to struggle to survive.
