I'm amazed that people can learn multiple languages

I'm interested in Spanish, German and Italian. According to every single app I need to follow the same process for each one and it feels like it's going to take forever to reach a stage where I can actually hold a decent conversation. I can't see myself patiently following the same process, for each of those languages, before I can say I'm fluent? The only way I'm going to learn a language is if they can make it as simple and pain-free as possible. I don't see multilingual people being put through this, or did they?

If I have to spend years learning a second language, I can't imagine how much time someone needs to spend to learn 3 or 4. I want to be a polyglot but it looks like a monumental task.
